The Future LiME Hub - Liquid Metal Engineering Hub based at Brunel University funded by the EPSRC. Metals | Engineering | Processing | Finishing | Recycling. Future Liquid Metal Engineering Hub. Funder: Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Duration: November 2015 - October 2022 

We are now establishing the Future Liquid Metal Engineering Hub to address these challenges. The core Hub activities will be based at Brunel strongly supported by the complementary expertise of our academic spokes at Oxford, Leeds, Manchester and Imperial College and with over £40M investment from our industrial partners. The mission of the Hub is to be an international leader in liquid metal engineering, involving fundamental and applied research from nucleation centred solidification science through to sustainable metal processing technologies. The Future LiME Hub is a national centre of excellence in liquid metal engineering based at Brunel University London in collaboration with our four Spokes of Imperial College London and the universities of Oxford, Leeds and Manchester. The long-term vision of the Future LiME Hub is full metal circulation, in which the global demand for metallic materials is met by a full circulation of secondary metals (with only limited addition of primary metals each year) through reduced usage, reuse, remanufacture, closed-loop recycling

LiME – The Future Liquid Metal Engineering Hub Sarginsons is a lead partner and Board member at LiME, the UK steering committee aligning UK academic research into casting with commercial objectives.
